Teenage mode, piercinger og tattoveringer
Skal vi som voksne være bekymrede eller glade når vores teenagere gennem piercinger, farvet hår, barberede isser og tatoveringer giver udtryk for hvem de er og hvad de står for?
For de fleste teenagere, er frisure og valg af tøj, lige så vigtigt som mad og drikke, og teenagere udtrykker deres liv gennem tattoveringer, piercinger og smart modetøj. Hvis vi tænker efter, gjorde vi nøjagtigt det samme da vi var teenagere, øreringe til drenge var tilbage i 70′erne lige så provokerende som læbepiercinger er det i dag.
Faktisk skal vi som forældre være glade for at vores teenagere er selvstændige og udtrykker deres personlighed. Vi skal dog ikke glemme at tatoveringer er blivende kropsudsmykninger og at den teenager som får en tatovering skal leve med den resten af livet. Derfor er det vigtigt at tale med sine børn om konsekvenserne, f.eks. kan mange ansigtspiercinger være en hemsko når der skal søges job og da teenagealderen ofte er en alder hvor der skal protesteres, er det ikke sikkert at tatoveringen er lige så påskønnet når teenageren bliver voksen.
Der er altså flere dilemmaer man som forælder til et teenage barn står i, og disse dilemmaer gælder også for teenageren, som godt nok vil provokere, men også er loyal over for forældrene. En god dialog omkring, specielt tatoveringer, er vejen frem. Modetøj og frisurer ændrer sig og det er ikke noget problem, her skal de unge mennesker have fuld frihed, piercinger og tatoveringer derimod er blivende udsmykninger og her er en god samtale omkring dette nødvendig for et godt forhold mellem forældre og teenagere.
