Økologisk Modetøj
Ø-mærke til tøj
Selvom mange af de store tøjmærker som Levis, Wrangler, Jack og Jones, H&M, Vero Moda og Jackpot længe har haft økologiske kollektioner, har vi i Danmark ikke et Ø-mærke for tøj. Der ikke noget på linje med det røde ø-mærke, som vi kender det på fødevarer. Derfor kan hvem som helst sælge økologisk tøj, uden at du kan være sikker på, at det overhovedet har noget med økologi eller miljø at gøre. Vil du have at dit tøj er økologisk, må du altså kigge efter udenlandske mærker. Kig efter Global Organic Textile Standard, som er en international kontrolinstans for økologisk tøj. GROT kontrollerer bl.a. det kendte hollandske SKAL-mærke.
For at en fødevare kan blive godkendt som økologisk skal en lang række krav til produktion, dyrevelfærd o.s.v. være opfyldt. Når vi tale om tøjproduktion på den konventionelle facon, er et stort forbrug af kemikalier almindeligt. Et evt. dansk regelsæt for hvornår tøj kan kaldes økologisk bør på lignende måde tage forskellige etiske og miljømæssige faktorer i betragtning.
